Of the many golf GPS devices available on the market, it’s interesting to note that the Sonocaddie V300 ranks highly in many lists as one of the best devices around. While the Sonocaddie V300 is pricier than other model types, it more than makes up for it by being technological superior to competing products, not to mention being packaged with excellent promotional offers like zero yearly memberships for course downloads. Retailing at $244 on Amazon, zero yearly memberships easily offset the cheaper but maintenance-intensive devices like the Skycaddie which requires a $50 annual fee or the more cumbersome Golflogix with its $25 membership retention fee.

Sonocaddie V300 Review: A solid product with only a few drawbacks.
On the technology front, the Sonocaddie V300 is everything that you can ask for in a golfing GPS device. The top-to-bottom clear graphical display for the hole makes it easy to see the layout and decide who you will play the hole. It’s a very easy display with accurate distance measurements down to a few yards eliminating the guesswork in picking the correct club. The GPS is dynamic and responsive and the downloaded maps allow you to update and edit waypoints and hazards so you can tailor your game to specific conditions. Previously played rounds can be saved up for later analysis and the battery is more than sufficient to last one round of 18-hole golf with unverified claims saying battery life even extends up to beyond 12 hours of continuous playing. Best of all, the built-in memory can take up to 30 different course maps at any time so you don’t have to constantly update the device.
Of course, the device does not come without its select troubles. Some users complain that the user interface is a little irksome with some buttons stiff and occasionally unresponsive. Overall however, the Sonocaddie V300 passes most expectations for a device of its stature and price and remains to be a suitable and adequate choice for all your golfing needs.
