Callaway uPro Review

There are various Callaway uPro reviews on the internet which all point to the same thing – the product was poorly launched at the start of this year resulting to a significant number of customer complaints that have tainted the product’s reputation over the course of a few weeks following its release. The complaints stem from the fact that the systems – website, customer support, technical support, maps, manuals, user instructions – were not properly coordinated when the launch was announced; instead, customers with concerns and questions were left hanging in the air shortly after the first Callaway uPro devices were shipped out.

Callaway uPro Review: A few issues, but constantly improving.

In the intervening weeks, Callaway has responded positively to the concerns constantly upgrading the device to answer all Callaway uPro reviews on the internet. While the Callaway uPro still has some ways to go to be considered the best device in its segments, the average Callaway uPro review has shifted to a more forgiving tone.

So what does the Callaway uPro device offer to consumers? First off, it’s one of the cheaper golf rangefinder devices that is still equipped with a fully colored, albeit smaller, screen. Retailing for only $189, the device is significantly cheaper than competing varieties from Garmin, Bushnell, Sonocaddie, OnPar and many others. This cheaper price strategy still affords the device considerable functionality in terms of GPS signal reception especially with accuracy from tee to green and the middle of the fairway to course hazards. The Pro Mode functionality is better than advertised as it delivers the same level of performance as more expensive devices although the Pro Mode does not come free with the original setup, which makes it a little bit of a bummer.

On the downside, Callaway is still working on its website to get the device setup going as smoothly as possible. It took more than one month between device release and the website to be up and customers are still trying to figure things out. Customer service is still shaky at best, and any Callaway uPro review would still score the device lower than its competing products.

Callaway uPro Review: Is it worth it yet?

We’d caution that users should take a wait-and-see approach for the Callaway uPro and instead rely on more recent Callaway uPro reviews as a measure of whether Callaway has indeed been successful in resolving its problems. Where possible, don’t purchase the device until you’re sure that the bugs have been flushed out of the system. If unavoidable, there are competing devices with similar if not better functionalities, albeit more expensive, but if you are looking for performance do not compromise on pricing. You’d be better off doing enough research before getting a product that you know will not fail to deliver.
